| Canyon Lake Performing Arts Center NEW Policies for 2012/2013 Fall/Spring TUITION Tuition: Tuition is due via auto pay on the last Wednesday of each month or the second to the last business day of the month whichever is earliest. Semester/session via auto pay for semester pay students will draft on the last Wednesday of the month or the second to the last business day prior to the beginning of the sememster whichever is earliest. Any payment received after the 5th of the month will be assessed a late fee of $25.00. Full tuition is due regardless of holidays as no additional charge is made for months with 5 lessons. Over the year it all balances out. There is no pro ration or refund of tuition or registration fees once paid! Credit cards are the only form of payment accepted for month to month pay plan. If you must pay with cash you will be required to pay by semester or full year only. If this is not an option we suggest purchasing a prepaid MC/VISA for your dance tuition and fees. No exceptions to this rule can or will be made. We DO NOT accept checks or money orders of any kind for any fees due. Etiquette No food, gum, or drinks other than water allowed in the dance room. No running in class or in studio. Children should be accompanied into the dance studio by an adult, if you must bring your child early or pick them up late you must contact the studio to make arrangements. Do NOT drop your child off for them to walk in alone, or drop them off before the studio opens. This is unacceptable. If you bring food or other paper goods into the studio please pick up after yourself. There are trash cans located at both ends of the lobby. Any socks or underwear left at the studio will be thrown away at the end of the day. Make sure you have everything you brought before you leave! Grievences with any staff member will not be addressed in the lobby area, please book an appointment to resolve any issues. Remember that children are abound so please watch your language and hold your tongue where local gossip is concerned...especially you teenagers! Also, if you have a grievence with another client of CLPAC, do not bring that grievence into the studio. Leave it outside our doors. It is not productive to the creative process to have negative energy floating about the studio. Please arrive on time for your class, it is quite disruptive to enter class late and you miss important warm up elements as well. Also, classes that have 2 students and one is absent, we will not hold class. A make up class will be made available. We do not give private lessons as a regular class. This is another reason to not drop your child and run. Make sure class is being held before you leave. All classes can be viewed via our closed circut TV system. The viewing window will only be open for Mr. Barry's classes (his preference), and once every month for our other instructors. Discipline: Dance is an art form that requires a high level of discipline, even in the recreational department. Students who disrupt class, or are inattentive will be given one verbal warning. If student persists, and parent is in waiting room, student will be sent to the parent for disciplinary action. If student returns to class and still misbehaves, student will be removed for the remainder of the class. If parent isn’t available the student will be asked to sit in the classroom for the remainder of the class, if student is still disruptive, parent will be called to collect child from studio. We do not give out food as a reward with exception of Halloween. We do give stamps on hands (washable inks) and stickers for the pre school and younger combo class students who abide by the rules and participate in class. If for some reason your child is refused a stamp or sticker, please understand that this system is in place to teach the children what is and isn’t appropriate behavior in class. It is the same in school, not all children will get an “A” or a gold star for achievement. We are an educational facility, not a daycare center! We do encourage the students to have fun! If your child is not in proper dance attire he/she will have exercise consequences on first offense, asked to sit out of class on subsequent infractions. This is for both programs. No prorating of tuition is allowed due to suspension of participation due to not being properly dressed! We cannot stress enough the importance of them wearing proper dance attire, even with the recreational students. Proper attendance and promptness is imperative to the education process! Students who are more than 10 minutes late to class will not be allowed to attend. Warm-up is essential to all performing arts and if missed can cause harm to the student. This is for your child’s protection! No prorating of tuition is allowed due to suspension of participation, tardiness, or absence. Make up classes for absences take place in another class at the same or lower level during the week. If we are closed due to inclement weather you may make up class same as an absence or take the specially scheduled weekend class that will be offered. We will offer a dance performance opportunity (recital) at the end of the year. Please let us know when you register if you plan on being a part of this performance. Performance fee will be assessed after we secure a location for the performance. The fee will be based on how many students we have participating, and the cost of the venue rental, plus all other costs incurred to produce the performance. No tickets will be sold, it will be general admission to the performance. Pre-professional students will have competition and performance opportunities available to those we have chosen to be in our competition and performance companies. Cancellation Policy: You may withdraw from classes with 30 days prior written notice. Email notice will suffice as written notice. If no written notice is given, we will continue to draft from your approved auto pay method until we receive such notice plus one month. No refund of tuition allowed if prepaid for session or year and you withdraw. |
